STORY HIGHLIGHTS
The sudden death of the Queen of Pop brought to us the memories of another great music star in American history, Elvis Presley.
Elvis Presley, the undisputed king of rock’n roll, passed away 35 years ago. But he and his music lives forever in the heart of his fans.
For the past six years Presley's former tour manager and close friend, Charles Stone, has travelled around the world with the show “Elvis Forever” which brought "The King" back to us through his music.
This time, the show came to Denmark and CNC got the chance to have a talk with Charles Stone.
Lifestyles has the story.
Everytime "The King" had a performance, the city where he showed up would be filled with feverish fans coming from all over the country.
Things remained the same years later in Denmark.
Charles Stone and the Elvis Presley performers brought the King's songs to Copenhagen and Aarhus in Denmark last week.
As was expected, the tickets were soon sold out.
Elvis Presley started his career as a singer back in 1954 when he recorded his first rock song “It’s all right” at the Sun Studios in Memphis.
Since then he has sold more than a billion albums and fans all over the world still love his music and his style.

"I think that it is because of the charisma of Elvis Presley. Number one; he was an extremely good looking guy and the women absolutely loved him. And then he could sing. Elvis was a very talented. You can say all, you want to about Elvis Presley but he was a very talented man. He could sing. His shows was an event, it wasn’t just a concert. When he was playing in a city (in USA) all the hotels were sold out. All the restaurants would be filled up. It was an economic boom for each city he visited. It was not just a normal show anywhere in the world."
The Elvis Forever show is currently touring around the world and will go as far as to India in July.
The show features the performance of Elvis Presley's old songs like "Little Sister", "Hound Dog" and "Heartbreak Hotel" by some of the most recognized Elvis performers.

“I can say we have the two best (Elvis performers) of what they do. And these guys are so good at what they do. They are not trying to be Elvis - please understand that. They are just so talented that they can present a show that if you didn’t see Elvis (alive) this is as good as it going to get.”
And it is not only in the way the two performers Ryan Pelton and Kraig Parker sings, that makes one believe the King actually is alive.
It is also in the show they deliver; making the audience - not the least the female part of it - fell like they have actually been close to their idol himself just like it was when Elvis was still alive.
For Parker, there is something magical in performing the King's music.

“I feel a lot of emotion when I go on to the stage. Preparing for the show is one thing, but when you actually step out on the stage and the music is pumping and the crowd is cheering there is like electricity that you can’t explain. And I felt that from the first time when I first did my first Elvis impression for a small audience. When I left the room I turned to my friend and said: “Man, what is happening there?” I felt something that I never had felt before, and it was just amazing that you can go out and do music by someone else and still feel that and hopefully the audience can feel it as well; an electrical, magical musical power.”

"It is a big challenge. Like you say it is big shoes to fill out, but I feel like I am a good entertainer and people seem to appreciate what I do. A lot of what comes across is me as well as Elvis Presley, so I try to give myself over to the crowd when I am in a show as well as giving Elvis Presley. And as long as I do that - and not overdo it - there some guys who overdo it and I think you can go too far, but there is a good saying: Less is more, so I just do my best interpretation and have a lot of fun and doing that you are going to win every time."
Elvis’s songs were often about love like those of other pop and rock starts. But he also have done songs like “In the ghetto” that showed a side of him as a man who cared others.

"Elvis Presley was a great individual. He was a humanitarian, he loved to give, and he loved to do things for people. He had no idea how big a star he was. He had no demands at all. For example if you look at the big rock shows today they have extreme catering with demands like no brown M&M’s backstage or whatever. He had six coca cola’s in his dress room that was it. He was never demanding. He was just a nice man."
Elvis Presley won millions of hearts all over the world. But he passed away in his home in Memphis from heart attack the 16th of August 1977 at the age of 42 - the day before another big concert tour, leaving millions of fans heartbroken.
